Queen's University - Next Steps for your Graduates

Offer Conditions:
All offers made prior to an applicant graduating are conditional offers of admission. Each student’s conditions are outlined on their offer of admission, and we encourage all students to review their offer conditions closely.  If a student fails to achieve their offer conditions, it could result in the revocation of their offer of admission.  More information regarding conditional offers of admission can be found here: queensu.ca/admission/conditional-offers-admission

Should a student recognize that they will not satisfy the conditions of their offer of admission, we ask that they contact us by June 30 at admission@queensu.ca

Summer Orientation to Academics and Resources:
Running from July 12 to July 23, Summer Orientation to Academics and Resources is a summer orientation program for incoming first-year students and their parents and supporters, run by the Student Experience Office. The program features a combination of modules and online events, including opportunities to connect with upper-year students, faculty, and staff.  To learn more, please encourage your students to visit the links below.

Fall 2021: Our Fall recruitment plans

While we remain hopeful that it will be possible for some in-person school visits and on-campus events to occur this fall, this will depend greatly on the progress of vaccines rollouts and the advice of our local Public Health Unit.  As such, we will continue to have a virtual presence this fall and our ability to attend in-person visits will be determined closer to September.
Updates and Reminders for 2021-2022!

NEW:  Update to Arts Admission Requirements for Ontario Secondary School Applicants
New for September 2022 entry, the admission average for Ontario secondary school students applying to Arts-based programs will be calculated using English 4U and five additional 4U or 4M courses. This change will also be reflected in the average calculation for our automatic,
merit-based scholarships.

REMINDER:  QuARMS Eligibility
To reduce barriers to medical education, the Faculty of Health Sciences and the School of Medicine updated the eligibility requirements for the Queen’s University Accelerated Route to Medical School (QuARMS) pathway.

The QuARMS pathway selects up to 10 high school students who are Indigenous or who self-identify as Black African, Black Caribbean, Black North American or multi-racial students who have and identify with their Black ancestry.

REMINDER:  Supplementary Information
Admission to Queen's is very competitive, and we may use Supplementary Information including the Supplementary Essay (SE), Audition, or Portfolio in addition to a student’s academic record to help make admission decisions.  Each applicant to Queen’s has a unique To-Do List, detailing exactly what we need to round out their application.

For applicants to Commerce and Health Science, submission of the SE by February 15 required.  For applicants to Nursing, submission of the SE is optional but recommended.

Applicants to Music, Concurrent Education/Music and Music Theatre are required to complete an audition.  Applicants to Fine Art and Concurrent Education/Fine Art are required to submit a portfolio.
