A message to schools, from UBC Recruitment:

How UBC makes admissions decisions
Some of your students haven't received a decision yet because students who did not receive a first-round offer or who applied after December 1 are currently being evaluated for admission. Find out how UBC evaluates applications and  when students can expect their admissions decision
September 2021 and COVID-19
As the world begins to move toward life after the pandemic, your students are likely wondering what the upcoming semester will look like.
Based on the strong and effective safety plans put in place by the government, as well as BC’s vaccination schedule, UBC is preparing for students to begin their studies on campus in September. The health and wellbeing of our students is the top priority. As the situation continues to evolve, please keep checking this blog post to find out the latest.
Presidential Scholars and Centennial Scholars Awards
Centennial Scholars Award
Successful applicants for a Centennial Scholars Entrance Award will be notified by May 15, 2021. Only successful award applicants will be contacted. Students who have been admitted on First Round Admission Offers will be contacted before May 1 (the deadline to accept their offer of admission).

Presidential Scholars Award
UBC will contact all recipients of a Presidential Scholars Award by end of day on April 27, 2021.

Destination UBC
Canadian students admitted to UBC are invited to join us virtually for Destination UBC. We know that going to University is a big decision, so this event is designed to help students identify whether UBC is the right fit for them.

The two-week long event will run from April 24 to May 7 and will feature a series of social activities, faculty sessions, campus tours, info sessions and events for parents.

There will also be specific events for students who self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit. These virtual sessions will introduce students to the Indigenous community at UBC. Destination UBC is designed for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, but Indigenous students have the chance to take part in Indigenous-only sessions as well as general sessions during the event.
Upcoming events for international students
Applicant Information Events :
Your students can join us for an hour-long Applicant Information Event to discover what their next steps are with UBC. During these sessions, they’ll hear about UBC’s admissions process and what to expect in the coming months. Each Applicant information Event is tailored to their location, so they can meet other students from their country and region for the first time. Our Applicant Information Events run from late March to mid-April.

UBC Future Student Conference:
From April 13 to 17, your students can connect with professors, advisors, and current UBC students at the UBC Future Student Conference. They can join us for live sessions run by UBC advisors to learn more about topics like student life and financial planning, and enjoy the on-demand sessions that will let your students discover more about their program and degree at their leisure.
Program spotlight: Visual Arts at UBC Okanagan
Do you have a student who is a budding artist? Visual Arts at UBC Okanagan will let them study in a variety of traditional media, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, analogue photography, and printmaking, as well as take on digital media projects. Visual Arts at UBC Okanagan is unique in its thriving fine arts community. The beautiful Okanagan is not only home to a significant number of creatives and galleries, but is a lifestyle-focused region that offers plenty of inspiration.

Sincerely,
