| Now that students have sent in their application, they've entered the most difficult part of the process - waiting for a decision. Depending on the degree they applied for, the quality of their application, and when their grades become available, they can expect an admission decision between now and late April.
But there's still work to do! Direct your students to our “ After you’ve applied” page for important information on their next steps. | Online resources for Indigenous students | Are you looking for resources for Indigenous students interested in applying to UBC, or who have already been admitted? Our Indigenous Students at UBC page brings together a wealth of useful information. Read about UBC’s Aboriginal Admission Policy; Indigenous-specific awards, programs, and services; preparing for life at UBC; and much more. You’ll also find the UBC Aboriginal Student Handbook, which provides more in-depth information including stories from current Indigenous students attending UBC’s Okanagan and Vancouver campuses. | First-year study options: A smooth transition |
| To make the transition to university as easy as possible, UBC offers a selection of first-year study options designed to help your students build a community, take the stress out of registering for classes, and work more closely with instructors. Each follows a predesigned timetable and students have the advantage of taking their classes with the same group of people. First-year study options are available in the Arts, Science, Forestry, Applied Biology, and Food, Nutrition and Health faculties. | | Students aged between 15 and 18, who have completed Grade 10, can experience what learning is like at UBC with the Future Global Leaders program. The virtual schedule will allow them to explore their academic interests with first-year university-level courses taught by top UBC professors, as well as discovering how to boost their chances of getting into a Canadian university. A number of bursaries are available to help eligible students attend this pre-university program, and courses will run variously in March, July, and August. | | Rural eMentoring BC is a FREE online mentoring program for rural youth. eMentoring connects rural high school students with mentors who are in a variety of post-secondary programs in BC. Mentors guide students through a flexible, semi-structured curriculum that prepares them for life after high school, all through our safe, secure, and regularly monitored online platform. Contact us or visit our website to learn how to use eMentoring for course credit (especially in CLE/CLC classes), for Capstone projects, or if you know of a rural high school student who could benefit from eMentoring. |
