Program Availability & Application Deadlines

While most programs have a set start date, typically in the Fall, some offer multiple intakes throughout the year, and others have more specific application periods. You can check Program Availability and Program Type here.

  • For example, University Transfer is an Open Enrolment program with three intakes throughout the academic year. On the other hand, Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing is a Competitive Entry program with one Fall intake per year.
  • Please note that Conditional Admission for High School Applicants is only available for the Fall term.

At Camosun, we have three main terms when programs begin, each with its own Application Deadlines. Below, you’ll find general application dates for each term, which are applicable to our Open Enrolment and many Limited Enrolment programs. Please refer to the notes below for important details and exceptions.

Please note the following:

  • Competitive Entry programs have different deadlines than the ones mentioned above; these application periods close earlier than the typical Open and Limited Enrolment programs. All applicants are evaluated to see if they meet the minimum admission requirements and then ranked according to the program-specific criteria. The deadlines can be found here.
    • For example, the application period for the Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing program is from September 15 to January 15 with a document deadline of January 31.
    • If a student does not get invited to the intake they applied to, they will need to re-apply for the next intake/application period.
  • Limited Enrolment programs work on a first-come, first-qualified basis to those who meet the admission requirements (Grade 12 students can apply before finishing high school and receive conditional admission). While we keep these applications open as long as possible to reflect the early and late deadlines above, for high demand programs we will close applications once it is clear that no additional applicants will receive an Offer of Admission for that intake. If the program you are interested in is a Limited Enrolment program, please email admissions@camosun.ca to see when that program's applications have closed in past years.
    • For example, if program applications open on September 15 and we receive enough to fill the program by January 15, we would close applications early, even though the "early deadline" is May 15. Closing early prevents students from paying an application fee when there is no chance of getting into their desired intake. They would need to wait for the next intake/application period.
    • Don't know what type of program you're applying for? This information can be found here.
  • Trades Foundations (First Year) programs do not follow the same admission process or application deadlines; instead, our trades programs have "rolling waitlists". Students who apply to a trade should apply to the next intake of that trade found on EducationPlannerBC. When a seat becomes available, they will be contacted via email. To learn approximate waitlists for the trade you are interested in, please email admissions@camosun.ca.
