The Bridge Watch Rating Program at Camosun College is happening again this summer! This is a fully funded program for women and Indigenous students which leads to a deckhand position on vessels such as BC Ferries, Canadian Coast Guard, cruise ships etc. Seats are currently available in the summer program which will be running July 2 to October 25.
The program funding includes all tuition, fees, supplies, bus travel as well as lunches. Some of the training will occur in Vancouver at the Justice Institute of BC. All travel costs are covered in the funding.
To qualify students need to be Canadian Citizens, be physically fit and have passed English 12 and Math 11 (or a Trades Math or Trades English assessment).
Further details can be found at Camosun.ca/bwr.
Please feel free to contact me if there are questions or if students need assistance with the application.
