The Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Heath is dedicated to advancing Indigenous people’s health through education, innovative thinking, research, and traditional practice. It will work to improve wellness, health care and patient outcomes, and promote self-determination that includes increasing Indigenous leadership in all aspects of health and health care. Applications for the IPH program is now open - Applications are Due May 31st!!

The Indigenous Public Health Training Institutes equip Indigenous community members and scholars with the necessary skills to address public health issues in Indigenous communities. One-week intensive courses are offered toward the completion of the Graduate Certificate or Certificate (non-credit) in Indigenous Public Health, or courses can be taken individually.
 
The IPH Summer Institute will be held, August 19- 23rd in person at UBC Vancouver Campus, this time we will be offering the following two courses:
  • SPPH 576 (1.5 graduate level credits) - Introduction to Indigenous Health Research Ethics from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM PST
  • SPPH 578 (1.5 graduate level credits) - Social Determinants of Indigenous Health
From 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM PST

Deadline for application for Summer Science Program now extended to May 20th!

UBC Summer Science program applications are now open!
UBC Summer Science is a one- week cultural, health and science program for Indigenous students going into grade 9-12. The program promotes interest in health and science programs through first hand learning at UBC. The Summer Science program is a great way to meet new friends, connect with Elders/Role models, while enjoying laughter, learning and culture!
  • Location: UBC Vancouver Campus
  • Week 1: June 30 - July 6 (for students going into Grades 11-12)
  • Week 2: July 7 - July 13 (for students going into Grades 9-10)
