A message to schools from U of Alberta Student Recruitment:

I hope 2023 is treating you all well. This is Tessa Sautner from the University of Alberta.

Here are a few important dates/deadlines:

  • February 16th is the last day to submit a program change request form. This is for students who have already submitted an application to the University of Alberta and would like to switch the programs they are applying into without submitting an entirely new application. Beyond this date, they will be unable to submit this form.

  • February 13th - April 30th is when Course & Mark Update sheets will be available to students. This is where students can update new final grades or mid-term marks and be reviewed again for admission. Only students who have not received admission to the University of Alberta for their first choice program need to fill this out. We have online presentations going over how to fill out these forms that are available for registration at uab.ca/recruitmentevents

  • February 15th is the last day to apply to the University of Alberta Access Awards. These are for students who demonstrate financial need. More information available at uab.ca/awards. Students looking to apply for loans or financial aid should do so through their home province. Out of Province student loan information is linked here.

  • March 1st is the last date to submit a University of Alberta application.

  • March 1st - April 30th are the dates we will accept Predicted Grades forms from IB Coordinators for full IB applicants.

  • April 30th is the last date to apply for a guaranteed spot in residence. Students can apply at uab.ca/residence

  • In the coming months… admitted students (who have accepted their offer) will be able to create their schedules and enroll in classes. They must submit their tuition deposit prior to class registration. Interested students can use websites such as uab.ca/calendar, uab.ca/regtips, and uab.ca/reg101 to learn more about what this process entails/what classes they should be looking forward to. We will also have online presentations on how to do course registration in the coming months.
