Explore UVic – our in-person open house

For students that are considering the University of Victoria, I would highly recommend visiting our campus for Explore UVic on Saturday, November 26. The event schedule and registration are available online now!  You will find a digital poster attached to help promote the event in your school.

Explore UVic will offer:

• Campus tours and faculty-specific facility tours
• Information sessions for prospective students and parents
• Student experience panels featuring current UVic students
• Sample lectures given by UVic professors
• Information fair with academic programs and student support services

Virtual sessions

For those that can’t make it to our campus for Explore UVic, attending a virtual session is a great alternative! Here are some options that your students and their families might find helpful:

Discover UVic virtual information sessions are designed for prospective students to learn about all that the University of Victoria has to offer. We’ll cover topics from campus life and housing to hands-on learning and what it means to be a UVic student.

Upcoming dates include Monday, December 12 at 4:00 p.m. PST.

Parent Nights will guide parents and guardians on how to help their students succeed and thrive in their first year of university with a focus on strategies to navigate the transition from high school to university. Prospective students are welcome. The next session is scheduled for Sunday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. PST.  We will also host another Parent Night in January (date and time TBD). 

For those considering a Bachelor of Commerce degree, UVic’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business will be holding virtual information sessions every Wednesday evening between now and December 1. Our School of Business will also be hosting some additional virtual workshops that proved extraordinarily popular the last time they were offered:

“Adulting 101: Personal Finance for Students Planning for College & University” – Thursday, November 17 at 6:00 p.m. PST. 

“Entrepreneurship 101:  What Makes a Good Side-Hustle?” – Tuesday, November 22 at 6:00 p.m. PST.
