Hello from UVic!
Now that the application deadline for September 2022 has passed, we progress to the next steps in the admissions process. This month’s update provides information that will help you advise your students as they navigate these next steps.
Important dates:
· Self-reporting window: February 15th – March 15th
· Housing application window: February 7th – May 1st
· Specific criteria scholarship application window: February 15th – April 30th
· Deadline to accept an offer of admission: May 1st
· Deadline to complete online courses: June 30th
Next Steps Events are open for registration. These Faculty specific events will be highly valuable to Fall 2022 applicants. Sessions will include:
a) Next Steps Webinars (aka. Self-reporting 101 presentations) - Applicants learn about self-reporting grades, applying for scholarships and applying for residence.
b) Faculty spotlight/Showcase – Applicants join faculty, staff and students from their intended program to learn more about the experiences are available to them as first year students
c) Residence Spotlight – Applicants learn more about on-campus housing options (including our brand-new housing and dining facilities), learn how our community leaders and staff support residents, and get tips on the residence application.
d) Paddling Together – Applicants learn more about opportunities and services available to Indigenous students at UVic. We'll talk about band funding, scholarships and student residence, and invite members of UVic's Indigenous community to share their wisdom and experiences.
e) How to register with the Centre for Accessible Learning – Applicants can join our team at the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) to learn more about their services, how students with a diagnosed condition that presents barrier to learning can register for academic accommodations, and when to apply.
Discover UVic events for your grade 10 and 11 students. While the Next Steps events are designed for your grade 12 applicants, we’ll host Discover UVic Information sessions for your grade 10 and 11 students getting a head start on their university research. Registration is open now.
