Program Spotlight: Music Diploma Program
Capilano University’s two-year Music Diploma program is ideal for students who want to continue their musical studies but are looking for a smaller campus, smaller class sizes and lots of one-on-one attention. Our Music faculty has many years of experience and includes musicians who have recorded, toured, and performed worldwide.
Students will get the opportunity to develop their musical skills in voice, instrumental studies, or composition in their private lessons and learn and refine their musical theory and history knowledge and ear-training and sight-singing skills in our small classes. They can also plan to take part in our Instrumental or Choral ensembles.

The entire diploma is transferable to UBC Music and UVic Music, as well as many other universities, allowing students to continue into third year of a Bachelor of Music program. Furthermore, many students complete the Music Diploma in order to prepare themselves for the Bachelor of Music Therapy program, also offered at CapU.

Unlike many university programs currently, the Music Diploma program has stayed in-person this year, as we feel this is the best way to study and perform music – together!

For students wanting to know more information about our program, faculty, and more, please check out our blog or email us.
