Welcome to the new version of our annual information package. We hope you enjoyed your summer break and are keeping well. As the new Admissions cycle approaches, we would like to share some key updates and information.

Please find a quick-reference PDF below that shows “The Path to UBC”. This is a digital resource, with lots of hyperlinks. So you literally have information at your finger tips! The cool thing about this PDF is that it's also designed to be a poster.
Feel free to print it and pin on display boards. We hope this is a useful resource for you, your students and their parents.
Student guide
In addition to the poster-sized PDF on pathways to UBC, we also have a new Student Guide for prospective applicants. Click button below to access this digital document

This updated Student Guide contains some key resources for students and counsellors. The interactive format takes readers to the relevant you.ubc.ca webpages for more detailed information. In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, printed copies will not be sent out.
Redesigned tours and events page
We are excited to launch the redesigned tours and events section of the Undergraduate Programs and Admissions page.

Events are now more clearly organized, conveniently filtered by region and easily searchable by category. Additionally, through creating an account, students and counsellors can seamlessly register for and keep track of their sessions.
This fall we have expanded our programming to include topic-specific sessions, which will better prepare students for applying to UBC and transitioning to university.
New programs

This program offers courses on solutions to real-life, current sustainability challenges, such as climate change and pollution. Students also learn about the social and economic inequality linked to these issues.
This program helps students reach advanced proficiency levels in Nsyilxcn, while also teaching them about ways to contribute to the language’s recovery and how to work on the revitalization of Nsyilxcn in their communities.  Students must first take the Nsyilxcn Language diploma at NVIT  (2 Years), then apply for the Bachelor of Nsyilxcn Language Fluency at UBC Okanagan (2 years).
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a global business education at two world-class universities. Students start the first two years of this program at UBC Vancouver, then complete the last two years at HKU. Students graduate with two degrees: a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC Sauder, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from HKU.
New entrance award
UBC’s new award program supports Black Canadian students applying to both campuses. There are a number of award categories based on student need. Some are one-time and some are renewable up to $80,000. In addition to the financial assistance, scholars will be supported with a range of programming dedicated to student success.

To be considered for this award, applicants need to submit their UBC application and complete the Beyond Tomorrow Scholars Award application by December 1st.  Please note that selective aspects of this programming will be open to Black students and not just limited to award recipients.
Monthly newsletters and counsellor events
We will continue to send out monthly Counsellor Newsletters with important resources and updates at various points of the admissions cycle.
We will also be hosting province-specific counsellor information sessions from October 5 to November 9, 2021. Click the button below to access the full list of events, to sign up for the monthly newsletter, and to register for upcoming counsellor sessions.
