A message to schools from Ryerson University:

Admission information

Applying to Ryerson
As students begin to prepare for applications, it's important that they first review admission requirements and any additional criteria necessary for their program of choice. After applying, students will receive an email acknowledgment and will be prompted to activate their Ryerson Online Identity. This is necessary to access their Choose>Ryerson applicant portal where they can view the status of their application, submit required documents and view communications from us.

We've outlined all the steps required for submitting an application on our website, and we encourage students to attend our November Virtual Open House and follow us on social media (@WhyRyerson) for more helpful tips and resources.

COVID-19 updates
We are committed to doing our part in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Support for students and applicants remains our top priority. Every effort will continue to be made to ensure that our business processes support our applicants during this unprecedented time. Stay up to date with our COVID-19 updates for Undergraduate Applicants

Admission decision timelines
All admission decisions will be based on the information available to us at the time applications are reviewed. The majority of decisions will be made as follows:
  • Current Ontario secondary school applicants: between February and the end of May
  • All other applicants: between February and late June
Decisions will be posted to a student's Choose>Ryerson applicant portal. Additional criteria may factor into a decision, such as required overall averages and non-academic requirements.

Co-op options
Experiential learning at Ryerson takes place in many formats, including internships, research projects and co-op. Our innovative co-op program enables students to gain up to 16 or 20 months of full-time, paid professional experience before graduation, as well as the development of key skills and abilities. This option is available for a number of our programs, which are outlined on the Career & Co-op Centre website

New this fall, students entering the following Faculty of Arts programs will also be eligible to apply for co-op:
  • English
  • History
  • Politics and Governance
  • Sociology
Most full-time direct entry programs in the Ted Rogers School of Management will also be eligible to apply for co-op.

Fall 2021 non-academic requirements
Non-academic requirements for fall 2021 admissions are now live on our program pages. These details are helpful references for future applicants, and we encourage students to review all documentation carefully to ensure guidelines are met.

While in-person interviews are on hold during the pandemic, the Career & Co-op Centre facilitated a virtual career fair with 1,300 online interviews.
