A message to schools, from Post Secondary BC representatives:

PSBC Fall 2020 VIRTUAL FAIRS for Students, Parents and Counsellors.

Attached you will find the final schedule of Fairs.
- Our Fairs are for Grade 11 & 12 students only. We are planning to offer separate Fairs in January specifically for Grade 10 students. More info on that later this fall.

- You do not need to bring students together in your schools to take part in the virtual fairs. We do not want to intrude on what may be limited class times in your schools.

- The times we have established allow students to take part when and where they choose; if they need to access school computers, it would be after school.

- Visitors can login in at any time during the 4-hour fairs; those institutions doing live presentations will start them at 15-minutes after the hour; some institutions might do four presentations, while others may only do one or two, so students should plan to use all the time available to them to explore all the members booths in the fair and see who are doing presentations. Some institutions will also have pre-recorded presentations that can be viewed at any time.

- Students can return at almost any time after their assigned days to visit the booths, view pre-recorded video presentations and download documents. In between our live fair events the platform will be open most of the time so students, parents and you can access this information. If you and/or teachers want to use pre-recorded videos on the platform in a class, please feel free to do so.

- Our platform will also be hosting events for Strengthening Connections, the Aboriginal Student Recruitment group. If you would like a copy of their schedule please let me know.

- We have also scheduled three 'Community Fairs' which are open to anyone; if students are anxious to connect with an institution, they can take in the first of these events. These are also ideal times for parents to connect. The first two will be held on

Wednesday, October 21 [3:00 – 7:00 pm]    and    Saturday, November 14 [Noon – 4:00 pm]

Saturday, November 14 Community Event 12:00-4:00

Monday, November 16 Victoria/South Island 2:00-6:00

Tuesday, November 17 Victoria/South Island 3:00-7:00

- Here is a link to a short 1-minute video that provides a clear introduction for you and your students on how to use the Virtual Fair platform:

A Registration Information document that explains this process in more detail, will be posted on this site before the Fairs.Students can register before, or on the day of their Fair event.

I encourage you to regularly go to our website [www.postsecondarybc.ca] where you will see under EVENTS that many of our member institutions are starting to schedule many different kinds of virtual presentations and information sessions that both students and parents would be interested in. Please continue to share our website with your students and parents as a primary resource for post-secondary information.

Best regards,
