A message to schools from UVic Student Recruitment:

Hello from the University of Victoria!

Welcome to another school year! “Another school year” does not seem to fully explain what we are embarking upon with this academic year looking quite a bit different than what we’re used to. In the interest of keeping the communication channels clear during a somewhat fuzzy time, I wanted to reach out with some information that might be helpful to you as we begin the 2020/2021 school year.

General Updates

New Website

Our brand new website launched late this summer and is designed to help students more effectively navigate program options, admission requirements, tuition fees, the application process and more. Please feel free to explore for yourself here.

For the most up-to-date and official information about the University of Victoria’s response to COVID-19, please visit or direct your students to the COVID-19 section of our website.

Digital Viewbook

You would have received your counsellor pack recently, including a copy of the 2021-2022 viewbook.  If you would like additional materials for your school, please contact me directly.  We also offer a digital viewbook that you can share with your students.

Program updates

Physical and Health Education (Bachelor of Arts) – This program, offered by the School of Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education, forms the ideal route to becoming a school-based physical and health education teacher. Students should apply to the Faculty of Education and select Recreation and Health Education as their major. Students can request to transfer into the Physical and Health Education stream after one year of full-time study.

Event Updates

Events for your students

In addition to our participation in all PSBC and CUE virtual events this fall, UVic will be hosting numerous virtual events that would be very valuable to prospective students and their families, who are exploring the University of Victoria as a potential destination. These events can be found on our “Tours and Events” page and include:

Parent nights – Information on how to support students through the transition from high school to university in addition to UVic specific program and admission information.

Discover UVic Info Sessions – Virtual presentation of all things UVic in addition to a Q&A session.

Student Experience Panels – Virtual panel of current UVic students sharing their experiences and answering questions about life at the University of Victoria!

Lectures and Seminars - Series of online lectures and seminars with guest speakers from UVic talking about a variety of topics and answering questions.

Registration is open now for all virtual student and parent events.

Please let me know if there have been any changes to your counselling and careers teams.  If you no longer wish to receive emails regarding UVic, please respond to this email.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you or your students have any questions.  I am happy to support all students from Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and the Sunshine Coast.

Cheers,
Stephanie
