Following St. Lawrence College’s announcement suspending admission to a number of programs, including the 2 + 2 Music Theatre program, we are connecting with you to provide you with next steps and options at Queen’s that you may wish to discuss with your students, who may have already applied, or were considering it for a future application. |
| | Currently, we can offer two options: By accessing their OUAC account, students may amend their application to another program at Queen’s. We are sharing options that we think will be attractive to students with an interest in music and drama. We have outlined the program information for, below. For students who have applied to the 2+2 Music Theatre program the deadline to amend their Queen’s application is March 1, 2025. Students may cancel their application to the program, and we will refund a portion of the application fee and the document assessment fee (if applicable). To advise us of their intentions, they must complete and submit the Refund Request Form no later than March 1, 2025. If we do not receive a response from, we will cancel the application to the Music Theatre program and issue a refund.

| Bachelor of Music Options (OUAC Code: QM) |
| Bachelor of Music—Contemporary Instrumental and Vocal Genres This is a four-year Specialization degree where students can develop performance skills, primarily in voice, but will also have opportunities to develop skills in other performance areas, including acting and dance. Students can also take classes to learn new instruments and digital recording skills and learn some of the theories and traditions related to music theatre and other live performance traditions. We also produce major performances each year, several of which are music theatre oriented. Students in our Music, Drama, MAPP (Media and Performance Production) and Music Theatre programs train and perform at the stunning Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts. This program also has a Concurrent Education option (OUAC Code: QMM). |
|  | Requirements for admission:Acceptance to either of these programs is based on high school grades and an audition (Singing only. Students can use the same songs they have been preparing for their audition at St. Lawrence College). Students can participate in our in-person auditions (on Queen’s campus) on February 22 & 23 or submit a recorded audition by March 1. Applicants will be invited to select an audition preference after they select this program on OUAC. |

| | Bachelor of Arts Options (OUAC Code: QA) |
| Bachelor of Arts in Drama, Music or Media and Performance Production: Students can apply for our 3- or 4-year Bachelor of Arts degrees in Drama, Music or Media and Performance Production. Students will spend their first year taking a variety of classes in Music, Drama or other arts, creative arts, or social science courses. Students select their Major at the end of their first year. This is also available as a Concurrent Education option (OUAC Code: QB). Bachelor of Arts in Drama: The Bachelor of Arts, Drama is a 4-year Honours degree (BAH) or a 3-year General degree (BA). This degree integrates a variety of performance- and production-based learning with scholarships around theatre making and its role in society across culture and over time. Our approach immerses you in practical activities like acting, design, playwrighting, production, and directing alongside dynamic lectures and interactive seminars in theatre and performance studies, history, literature, and education. Also available with Concurrent Education option. (OUAC Code: QB). Bachelor of Arts in Music: Our Bachelor of Arts, Music is a 4-year Honours degree or a 3-year General degree. This degree program is ideal for students interested in music but looking for a flexible degree program to balance their study of music with another discipline. Students in this program will have the opportunity to study a variety of music genres, learn to play a range of instruments, or explore the sonic arts, including recording and production. Choose from courses that investigate various issues in music, music education and pedagogy courses, as well as courses in entrepreneurship. Students can audition to be part of any music ensemble or our major theatrical production. Bachelor of Arts in Media and Performance Production (MAPP) is a 4-year Honours degree. In this specialization program, students focus on Drama or Music along with Media Production.
