The Tourism Outreach Team Member works to assist in the implementation public-facing programming and is responsible for providing community and visitor information to the public through face-to-face interactions at the Sidney Visitor Centre and through related programming. Daily responsibilities include working alongside volunteer visitor services counsellors, implementation of roaming visitor services programming and working with the other team members on administrative projects as needed.
Job Duties
- Greet all visitors and locals in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide correct and up-to-date information to the public.
- Record visitor interactions for Destination British Columbia’s statistics program.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy and well-organized working environment.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Ability to work effectively independently and as a part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of local attractions, transportation and accommodations (Sidney, Saanich Peninsula, Victoria, Vancouver Island).
- Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- Ability to communicate professionally in both verbal and written formats.
Training and Orientation: The successful applicant will be provided Visitor Information Counsellor training.
