New program options starting in SeptemberThe School of Arctic and Subarctic Studies at our Labrador Campus is introducing a new bachelor of arctic and subarctic interdisciplinary studies that aims to create a hub of northern-focused and Indigenous-led educational excellence. The Faculty of Science and Department of Mathematics and Statistics will offer two new major options in the fall: - A new major in data science will teach computational and statistical thinking, mathematical and statistical foundations, model building and assessment, algorithms and software foundation, data curation and knowledge transference.
- Two majors in pure mathematics and applied mathematics will be replaced by a new major in mathematics. Students will complete core courses in calculus, discrete math, linear algebra, differential equations, and analysis.
