The Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Heath is dedicated to advancing Indigenous people’s health through education, innovative thinking, research, and traditional practice. It will work to improve wellness, health care and patient outcomes, and promote self-determination that includes increasing Indigenous leadership in all aspects of health and health care. Applications are Due April 3rd!!
Rooted in the core values of resiliency, culture and Indigenous perspectives, the UBC Certificate in Indigenous Health Administration and Leadership is designed to build and enhance your knowledge of health administration so you can confidently design, lead, and deliver holistic health and wellness programming in Indigenous organizations and communities.This program is proudly delivered in partnership by the UBC Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Health in and UBC Extended Learning, which offers support in instructional design, course delivery and student services, including applications and registration.The program curriculum is centered on Indigenous approaches and traditional teachings and is taught primarily by Indigenous instructors. You’re in a culturally safe and supportive learning environment that offers opportunities to build connections and lifelong relationships with your peers and instructors. The program format is flexible allowing you to do the program along with your work and family commitments.

UBC Summer Science program applications are now open!
UBC Summer Science is a one- week cultural, health and science program for Indigenous students going into grade 9-12. The program promotes interest in health and science programs through first hand learning at UBC. The Summer Science program is a great way to meet new friends, connect with Elders/Role models, while enjoying laughter, learning and culture!
  • Location: UBC Vancouver Campus
  • Week 1: June 30 - July 6 (for students going into Grades 11-12)
  • Week 2: July 7 - July 13 (for students going into Grades 9-10)

Survey Alert!

Indigenous students & those interested in higher education, your perspectives are valued in supporting community health and wellness partnerships! Engage with us as part of a collaborative initiative at the Centre for Excellence for Indigenous Health and the Human Early Learning Partnership to understand student and prospective student experiences and hopes for moving forward in a better way. Participants will receive a $50 gift card! Interested individuals can fill out our survey, or contact Sophie (sophie.carriere@ubc.ca).
