A message to schools, from Ashley Milbury, Youth Programs Manager, Minerva:

Hope you’re doing well these days!

I am checking in with a couple of free leadership opportunities for the young women at your school:

  1. Starting the Next Chapter: A Guide to University Applications
  2. Learning to Lead Tech Mentorship Session

Starting the Next Chapter: A Guide to University Applications:

Do you know a student about to start university who could use some support with the application process? The Minerva Youth Advisory Council will be hosting a virtual university panel on Nov 14th at 6:30 PM PST.

This event will feature a presentation covering several aspects of the university application process, such as choosing schools to apply to, answering written questions, and building a scholarship resume. There will also be a panel-style discussion featuring mentors from UVic, UBC, and UOttawa! This event is best suited for students who are looking to start university next fall.

Tickets are free! Visit this link to register: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/starting-the-next-chapter-a-guide-to-university-applications-tickets-749258782187?aff=oddtdtcreator

Learning to Lead Tech Mentorship Session:

We are excited to offer a Learning to Lead™ mentorship session focused specifically on careers in Tech! This two-hour virtual session will be held on Nov 18th from 2-4 PM PST.

This event is open to all self-identified girls interested in learning more about a career in tech and developing the confidence to step into any career they dream to be in! Participants will hear from a panel of accomplished leaders working in a variety of tech fields and then have an opportunity to connect in breakout rooms to ask their questions about career, education, and leadership.

Help support a young woman in developing the confidence to step into any field she’s interested in! Click here for the session registration link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/learning-to-lead-tech-mentorship-session-tickets-750262143267?aff=oddtdtcreator

Thanks so much!

Warmly,

Ashley
