Financial Aid & Awards News

Queen’s Financial Aid and Awards Profile

While all admitted students are automatically assessed for our main merit-based scholarship, we strongly recommend that all  prospective students who are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents submit a Financial Aid and Awards Profile, to ensure they are also being considered for our many hybrid, involvement-based, and need-based awards & bursaries.

Major Admission Awards (MAAs)

  • The MAAs include the Chancellor’s Scholarship, for which students must be nominated by their high schools, and several need-based awards.

  • Qualified students may apply for all the Major Admission Awards by submitting a single MAA online application via their Queen’s SOLUS student portal.

  • When applying for the Chancellor’s Award, nominated students indicate the name/position/email of someone that can validate their nomination. When the student application is submitted our system automatically sends the indicated High School Official (HSO) a verification of nomination form.

  • We recommend that students apply for admission to Queen’s no later than November 20, 2023, to ensure that they gain access to SOLUS to submit the MAA application by December 8, 2023 It takes 4-6 business days to receive your SOLUS login from the date you applied to Queen's University.
