UCalgary is offering the most inclusive and comprehensive first-in-family program in Canada. The First-Generation Scholars program will provide financial support and wraparound services for students who are first in their family to access post-secondary education. The program includes a mentorship program, first-generation student network, specialized academic advising and eligible students will receive $2,500 towards their first year of tuition.
To qualify, students must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee whose parents, legal guardians, or chosen family guardians have never attended a post-secondary institution anywhere in the world.
Students can apply for this program as part of the High School Entrance Award application that opens on October 1, 2023.
