Admission Requirements
Applicants to UVic must first select a faculty or program and meet the individual admission requirements and GPA minimums outlined in the individual program pages on our undergraduate admissions website. Hint: students that are undecided on a program can apply to one of the faculties of Humanities, Science or Social Sciences as Undeclared and select their major later on in their degree. While most programs do not require a personal essay, some programs require additional information (i.e. resume, portfolio, personal statement), which we call a supplemental application.
Application Process
Applications for fall entry typically become available in early September each year. The UVic application for September 2024 entry is available online now at uvic.ca/apply via EducationPlanner BC and the deadline to apply is January 31, 2024. More information on the application process can be found on the How to Apply section of our undergraduate admission website.
Changes to Self-Reporting for the Upcoming Application Cycle
For September 2024 entry, British Columbia current high school students will no longer self-report their grades as part of the UVic application process. Rather, we will use grading information provided by the BC Ministry of Education via the StudentTranscripts Service (STS).
Students must order transcripts to be sent to UVic via the STS website immediately upon submission of the application. They should choose the default option that allows updates for one year.

Registration closes on Monday, October 2, 2023.

Virtual events for prospective students and families
Discover UVic virtual information sessions are designed for prospective students to learn about all that the University of Victoria has to offer. We’ll cover topics from campus life and housing to hands-on learning.
Parent Nights will guide parents and guardians on how to help their students succeed and thrive in their first year of university with a focus on strategies to navigate the transition from high school to university. Prospective students are welcome.
Paddle Together will focus on the opportunities and services available to Indigenous students at UVic. We'll talk about band funding, scholarships and student residence, and invite members of UVic's Indigenous community to share their wisdom and experiences.
