VIU Connections March Newsletter

Applications for many of VIU’s programs will close March 31, so students interested in VIU for September are encouraged to apply. Missed a deadline? Don’t panic! Reach out to the VIU Recruitment Team at connect@viu.ca. There are always different ways to move forward, and recruiters can help find those paths.

Reminder:
Please remind your current Dual Credits students (grade 12 students at your school who are also taking courses at VIU currently) and future Dual Credits Students (grade 11 students who will be taking classes at VIU next year) to connect with an advisor to discuss their opportunities and options for the 2023/2024 school year.

Student Support Information Sessions
Student ambassadors will be holding 4 Step-by-Step virtual sessions with VIU experts sharing important information on the next steps of being a VIU student. The dates and registration links can be found below:

Web Registration sessions, after-hours Appointlets, and the Advising Next Steps presentation (April 4, 2023) are all available to high school students who have applied to VIU.

Services for Aboriginal Students Highlights

If you are an Indigenous student applying to VIU know that there are several scholarships and bursaries specifically for Indigenous learners. The BMO Bank of Montreal Award for BC Aboriginal Students, the Elizabeth Newham Award, and the Nora Mitchell Bursary are all $1000 awards for Indigenous learners studying at VIU. Make sure you apply for all the Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries. Here is a video on how to apply.
