Meet the Pride Collective and SUO Pride Resource Centre

At UBC, we are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming campus environment for all our sexual and gender diverse students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Okanagan Campus: The Students' Union Pride Resource Centre at the Okanagan campus strives to provide a space on campus where all students can feel welcome and comfortable regardless of gender or sexual orientation. The PRC works to create a social atmosphere within the university to foster discussion and awareness on campus of the diversity of sexualities and genders.

Vancouver Campus: The Pride Collective is a student-lead organization that organizes events, provides resources, and creates inclusive spaces. The Pride Collective offers educational and social services dealing with sexual and gender diversity to the UBC community. The Pride Collective provides support and information to those who self identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, two-spirit, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, other identities, those who do not identify and allies; assists people who are coming out; supplies a forum for dialogue about sexuality and gender identity; holds social events, and educates the wider UBC community about the variation in human sexuality and gender identity. Members of the group come from diverse backgrounds and everyone is welcome regardless of sexuality or gender.
First Year Study Options
First-year students in the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Forestry or Land and Food Systems degree programs have the option to join a predesigned course schedule for their first year, where they’ll take nearly all of their classes with the same people.

This option can often make the transition from high school to university smoother with standard timetables, coordinated assignment schedules and support from a community of students and faculty.

 These predesigned study options include:

That's all for now! As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you or your students have any questions.
