We are hard at work evaluating the more than 55,000 applications that we received for the upcoming Winter Session. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis and some students have now received their offers.
Maintaining offers of admission
UBC offers of admission result from a comprehensive assessment of a student’s academic and personal profiles. Offers are conditional. Once final grades are available, we will review these to ensure students have:

  • completed secondary school with a high school diploma,
  • completed the course requirements for the degree to which they were offered admission,
  • maintained the level of academic standing upon which the offer of admission was made.
Applicant grade information in the SSC
There is a known technical error with the high school record section of the Student Service Centre (SSC). As a result, what can be seen in an applicant's account doesn't accurately reflect the information we have on record for their application. Please inform your students to disregard the information listed in the high school record section. Our apologies for any confusion.
Important Deadlines

Supporting students through their next steps:
Vancouver Students
Vancouver students are assigned an individual Enrolment Services Advisor (ESA) who will personally introduce themselves by email shortly after the May 1st admissions acceptance deadline. For questions about degree planning and courses, students should connect with their faculty’s  academic advising office.
Okanagan Students
Okanagan students are supported by a Student Services team who can help with a full suite of topics ranging from student loans to academic advising. To connect with a member of the Okanagan team, students can call, email or book an advising appointment online.
Registration deposit deferral for Indigenous applicants:
If a student self-identifies as an Indigenous person of Canada in their UBC application, their registration deposit will be automatically deferred. This is part of UBC’s effort to support students who are being funded by third parties, including their band or Nation. This blog post covers everything you need to know about deferrals for all students.
Summer Programs for Indigenous Students (Vancouver campus)

Click the blue button (below) to learn more about the in-person and virtual summer camp programs happening in July. The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 1st, 2022 at 11:59PM PST.

New at UBC: Visual Arts at UBC Okanagan
Are your students creative, curious, and engaged with the world around them? If so, Visual Arts at UBC Okanagan might be the right program for them. Your students can study everything from painting, drawing, sculpture, and photography to digital media projects including video, sound art, animation, and the creation of virtual worlds. Your students will learn from and collaborate with students across other programs – something that’s not possible at larger campuses or as part of a larger program. Remember: your students don’t have to come to the program with a particular skill level. All they need is a genuine curiosity for the world, and their instructors will teach them how to develop their art.
That's all for now! As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
