SUMMARY
The Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada is a 3-week leadership exchange in the United States for teenagers ages 15-18 and adult mentors. The program develops a network of young adults from across countries in the Americas who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, an awareness of current and global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills. The program promotes mutual understanding, respect, and collaboration.
This is a selective program. Those selected will have no cost to participate.
YOUTH ELIGIBILITY
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Be between 15-18 years old at the start of the exchange with at least four months of high school or CEGEP remaining before graduation (2022 grads are not eligible)
- Demonstrate an interest in, and have limited experience in, the United States
- Demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement
- Be willing to complete a Community-Based Service Project in their Canadian community after the exchange
MENTOR ELIGIBILITY
- Develop group cohesion and community among program participants
- Assist students in cultural exploration
- Engage students in learning and help connect their experiences to their Community-Based Service Projects
